We are spoilt for choice when buying our ballet gear these days. We can get them in-store in Melbourne or online.
If you know which ballet brand you want to get, you can visit a dedicated flagship store that sells one particular brand. There are dancewear stores that are authorised sellers of different brands. They usually stock a few established international brands, as well as some local brands. You can also shop online to purchase international brands directly from their website, though you might need to pay extra for shipping.
Just like all fashion brands, there are products ranging from a lower price range to luxurious goods. I wear mid-range products. I have to say the higher-end leotards look amazing. So check them out. Let me remind you, you ARE allowed to buy things for yourself. You can get something for yourself for your Birthday, for Christmas and just because...
This is not an exhaustive directory. I will update the post from time to time to add the new kid on the block or the ones I have missed! Happy shopping. In love with Ballet once again.

What about customs, aka Princess Tutu and tiara?
You can get a plain practice tutu from most of the dance stores for $100 to $200. For a performance tutu, there are places you can buy or rent them. For the ones with gold thread, sequins and diamonds, they are around $480 to rent for a year and around $1700 to $2000 to purchase. I can see why some people want to own one. You open your wardrobe every day and you feel like a princess!
Tiara from Bloomerina
There are also affordable performance tutu at around $100- $300. However, they are usually ones with less detail and do not allow you to detach the bodice from the tutu.
Check out some of the websites. The tutu and tiara are meticulously made.
